Uniden Voice for Gyms

Your front desk answers the same six questions forever.

A gym's phone is a loop. Class times, membership prices, do you have a pool, can I freeze my membership, what time do you close. Meanwhile the person who wanted to join is fourth in the queue.

The bit nobody counts

A membership is not a sale, it is an annuity you did not answer the phone for

Gyms track joins and churn obsessively. Almost nobody tracks the enquiry calls that rang out, which are where a meaningful share of both problems actually live.

1A membership is worth a year, not a month. Losing one enquiry is not losing a signup fee, it is losing twelve or twenty four months of recurring revenue.
2Your busiest desk hour is your busiest phone hour. The 5pm to 7pm rush is when people walk in and when they ring. The desk cannot do both.
3Routine questions crowd out selling. Class times and opening hours are the majority of your call volume and none of your revenue.
Six things every club manager says out loud

You have said at least four of these this month

These are not phone problems. They are membership growth problems that arrive down a phone line.

01

Your front desk cannot sell and answer at once

A prospective member standing at the counter is the highest value thing in the building. Every ringing phone pulls attention away from them.

The agent handles routine calls so the desk can close the person in front of it.
02

Six questions make up most of your volume

Class times, prices, hours, parking, do you have childcare, can I freeze. All answerable without a human.

Answered instantly and consistently from what you told the agent.
03

Enquiries arrive at 8pm when people decide

The moment someone decides to join a gym is rarely during business hours. Your desk is thinnest exactly then.

Enquiries answered and tours booked at any hour.
04

Freezes and cancellations are handled inconsistently

Different staff give different answers about what is possible, which creates disputes and bad reviews.

One consistent answer from the rules you set, every single time.
05

Casual staff turn over constantly

A phone system nobody has been trained on becomes a phone nobody answers properly.

Apps a casual already knows how to use, with flows set centrally by you.
06

Nobody knows what the phone is costing you

You measure walk ins and web leads. The calls that rang out are invisible.

Every call logged and summarised, including the abandoned ones.
Watch one of them get saved

9:40pm. The desk has gone home. The membership does not.

This is the call that used to ring out. Here it is being answered by a Uniden Voice AI phone agent, in an Australian accent, from what you told it about your club.

It sounds like it is from here. Genuine Australian voices, not a call centre accent and not a robot reading a script.
It knows your timetable and pricing. Classes, times, memberships, joining fees, contract terms and what is included.
It books tours, not callbacks. Because a booked tour is what turns an enquiry into a member.
It handles freezes consistently. Same answer, same rules, every time, which stops disputes before they start.
Uniden Voice AI Agent Live on line 100:43
AgentGood evening, thanks for calling. The desk has closed but I can help. What did you want to know?
CallerI am thinking about joining. What does a membership cost, and do you have classes in the morning?
AgentWe do. Morning classes run from 5:45am, and there are eleven a week before nine. Membership is thirty two dollars a fortnight on a twelve month agreement, or forty five fortnightly with no lock in.
CallerNo lock in sounds better. Can I have a look around first?
AgentAbsolutely. I can book you a tour with one of the team. There is tomorrow at 10am, or Thursday at 6pm.
CallerThursday at six. It is Ben.
AgentBooked, Ben, Thursday at 6pm. I have texted you the confirmation, the timetable and what to bring if you want to try a session while you are here.
What happened after the desk went home
  • Membership options quoted accurately, including contract terms
  • Tour booked into a real slot with a membership consultant
  • Timetable and confirmation texted from the club number
  • Enquiry and transcript in your system for the morning
One number, sorted by value

A membership enquiry should never queue behind a timetable question

Publish one number. Behind it, membership enquiries reach someone who can sell, routine questions are handled without a person, and the desk stays with the member in front of it.

January decides your year, and January is unanswerable

Gym enquiry volume has the most extreme seasonality of almost any business. January arrives, everybody decides at once, and your desk is simultaneously dealing with the busiest floor of the year.

An AI agent absorbs the whole January wall. Every enquiry answered, every tour booked, at any hour, so the year's most valuable leads stop going to a ringing tone.

Your phone should know which member is calling

Uniden Voice connects to more than a thousand apps and offers open APIs, so a call arrives with the member, their plan and their billing status attached rather than just a number.

01 · ON THE RING

Screen pops before you say hello

The caller's name, their history and their open membership appear on the handset or in the app as it rings, so the first thing out of your mouth is their name and not "who am I speaking with".

02 · DURING THE CALL

Click to call from anywhere

Ring a member straight from the record in your membership management system, without ever typing a number. Fewer wrong numbers, and every call logged against the right file automatically.

03 · AFTER THE CALL

Notes that write themselves

Recording, transcript, AI summary and the next action land in your CRM or your shared drive. Nobody has to remember what was promised on a Friday afternoon.

Why Uniden, and not the other twelve

An Australian phone platform for a business built on recurring revenue

Plenty of platforms will sell you AI. Very few are Australian owned, hosted and supported, and almost none come from a brand Australians have known since 1966.

Onshore, end to end

Designed and built in Australia, hosted in Australian datacentres, and supported by Australians you can actually get on the phone. Your customer conversations do not leave the country.

An accent that lands

The AI answers in a genuine Australian voice. It matters, because a caller who thinks they have reached an offshore call centre hangs up before you get the chance to help them.

Desk, pocket and back office

The EVOC2 desk handset where you want something solid to grab, plus real Uniden apps for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. Same number, whether you are at a desk or on the gym floor.

One provider, one bill

Keep your numbers including 1300 and 1800, and take the NBN connection from us too. Fewer vendors to chase when something goes wrong at the worst possible moment.

Straight answers

The questions clubs ask us first

Can it sell a membership over the phone?

It can quote your plans accurately and, more importantly, book a tour, which is what actually converts. Most clubs prefer the close to happen with a person on site, and the agent is set up to drive towards that.

Where you do sell over the phone, the agent can take the enquiry all the way to a booked appointment with your membership consultant and pass across everything it learned.

Can it handle freezes and cancellations consistently?

Yes, and clubs often tell us this is the unexpected win. Freezes and cancellations are where inconsistent answers create disputes and bad reviews. The agent applies exactly the rules you set, every time, and records what was said.

Anything outside the rules gets escalated to a manager with the context already gathered.

Will your casual staff be able to use it?

Yes, because it looks like the apps they already use. Calls, transfers, messages and internal chat live in one Uniden app on the desktop or their phone, and the EVOC2 desk handset behaves like a desk phone.

Anything clever, such as who a call reaches at 4pm on a Sunday, is configured centrally by you. New starters do not need to learn any of it. They just answer.

We run more than one club. Does it handle that?

That is where it earns its keep. You advertise one number and we route behind it: by club, by time of day, by queue, with overflow so a call at a flat out club rings somewhere quieter instead of ringing out.

Each club can keep its own greeting and its own direct number as well. Reporting rolls up across all of them, so you can finally compare how each one handles its phone.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. Number portability is standard, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, so the number on your signage, your website and your directory listings and on years of Google results stays exactly as it is.

We port it across and plan the cutover around your hours, not ours.

What happens if the internet drops?

Calls keep flowing. The mobile app keeps working over 4G and 5G, so your people can answer on their handsets while a site connection is down, and call flows can be set to divert to mobiles automatically.

You can also take your NBN service from Uniden Voice, so the connection and the phone system are one provider with one support number, instead of two companies each suggesting the problem belongs to the other.

How long does it take to get running?

A single site can be live quickly, because the apps need no hardware and the handsets arrive ready to plug in. The part worth doing properly is the call flow and the AI agent's knowledge of your business, and we build that with you rather than handing you a manual.

Number porting is the one step with an external timeline, so we usually run your new setup alongside the old line until the port completes. You never trade a day without a phone.
