Uniden Voice for Lawn care

The mower is running. The phone is in the ute. The job goes to someone else.

You cannot hear a phone over a commercial mower, and you would not want to stop mid strip if you could. So the calls stack up, and the person who wanted their lawn done this week rings the next name on the list.

The bit nobody counts

Every missed call is not one job. It is a customer for the next five years.

Lawn care runs on recurring work. A missed enquiry is not a one off loss, it is a fortnightly booking you never had, multiplied out over years, and you never see the invoice for it.

1Recurring customers compound. One fortnightly mow is small. The same customer over three years is not, and neither is the referral to their neighbour.
2Nobody waits for a callback about a lawn. It is a low consideration purchase. They ring two numbers and book whoever answers first.
3Property managers ring in bulk. One call from an agency can be four or eight properties. Missing it is not a small loss.
Six things every lawn care operator says out loud

You have said at least four of these this month

These are not phone problems. They are what happens when the work is loud, mobile and booked in runs.

01

You physically cannot hear the phone

Ear protection and a two stroke engine mean the phone might as well be at home. You find six missed calls at lunchtime and four of them have already booked someone else.

The agent answers every one on ring one, and books them into your run.
02

Quoting a lawn needs an address, not a visit

Most quotes are answerable on the phone if someone asks the right three questions. Nobody is free to ask them.

The agent asks address, size and frequency, and quotes from your rate card.
03

Runs get wrecked by scheduling calls

Half your calls are people changing days, adding a hedge, or asking if you can come Thursday instead.

Routine changes handled without you stopping the mower.
04

Rain turns your week into phone calls

One wet stretch and the whole run shuffles, which means twenty customers need telling.

Outbound AI agents can make the reschedule calls for you.
05

Seasonal demand is brutal

Grass grows on its own schedule. Spring doubles your call volume and does not double your hours.

Capacity that scales with the season instead of with your day.
06

Cash and casual bookings leak

Jobs agreed verbally on a phone call never make it into the system, and never make it onto an invoice.

Every call transcribed and summarised straight into your job list.

11:20am. The mower is running. The customer signs up anyway.

This is the call that used to ring out in an empty ute. Here it is being answered by a Uniden Voice AI phone agent, in an Australian accent, from what you told it about your business.

It sounds like it is from here. Genuine Australian voices, not a call centre accent and not a robot reading a script.
It knows your rates and your suburbs. Standard pricing by block size, your service area, and the extras you offer.
It books into your run. Real slots on real days, so the new customer lands where the ute already is.
It quotes on the spot. Which for lawn care is usually all the customer wanted before they committed.

AgentGood morning, thanks for calling. The crew is out on a run, but I can sort this out for you. What can we do?
CallerI need someone to mow regularly. We just moved in and the yard is a mess.
AgentHappy to help. What is the address, and is it a standard suburban block?
Caller12 Bourke Street, Northcote. Yes, pretty standard, maybe a bit of a slope at the back.
AgentNorthcote is on our Wednesday run. For a block that size it is sixty five dollars a visit, fortnightly, and the first visit is a bit more if it has got away from you.
CallerThat is fine. Can you start this Wednesday?
AgentBooked for this Wednesday, and fortnightly after that. I have texted you the price, the day and what to leave unlocked.

Grass does not care about your roster

Lawn care volume follows the growing season, not your capacity. Spring and early summer bring a wall of new enquiries and rescheduling, and no amount of planning makes those weeks answerable.

An AI agent absorbs it. It answers, quotes, books into the runs you already drive, and handles the reschedules that rain creates, without you ever stopping the mower.

Your phone should know which property is calling

Uniden Voice connects to more than a thousand apps and offers open APIs, so a call arrives with a customer, a property and a schedule attached rather than just a number.

01 · ON THE RING

Screen pops before you say hello

The caller's name, their history and their open property appear on the handset or in the app as it rings, so the first thing out of your mouth is their name and not "who am I speaking with".

02 · DURING THE CALL

Click to call from anywhere

Ring a customer straight from the record in your scheduling or invoicing system, without ever typing a number. Fewer wrong numbers, and every call logged against the right file automatically.

03 · AFTER THE CALL

Notes that write themselves

Recording, transcript, AI summary and the next action land in your CRM or your shared drive. Nobody has to remember what was promised on a Friday afternoon.

Why Uniden, and not the other twelve

A phone brand that has survived Australian work vehicles since 1966

Plenty of platforms will sell you AI. Very few are Australian, and almost none have spent sixty years making kit that lives in a trailer.

Onshore, end to end

Designed and built in Australia, hosted in Australian datacentres, and supported by Australians you can actually get on the phone. Your customer conversations do not leave the country.

An accent that lands

The AI answers in a genuine Australian voice. It matters, because a caller who thinks they have reached an offshore call centre hangs up before you get the chance to help them.

Desk, pocket and back office

The EVOC2 desk handset where you want something solid to grab, plus real Uniden apps for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. Same number, whether you are at a desk or behind a mower.

One provider, one bill

Keep your numbers including 1300 and 1800, and take the NBN connection from us too. Fewer vendors to chase when something goes wrong at the worst possible moment.

Straight answers

The questions lawn care operators ask us first

Can it quote a lawn without seeing it?

For most jobs, yes, and that is the point. You give the agent your rate card by block size and any rules you use, such as a first visit surcharge for an overgrown yard or a premium for steep blocks. It then quotes consistently, every time, without you stopping work.

For anything unusual it takes the address and flags it for a look, which is still a saved customer rather than a missed call.

Can it fit new customers into my existing run?

Yes, and this is where the money is. The agent can be told which suburbs you do on which days, so a new customer in Northcote gets offered your Wednesday run rather than a random day that costs you an hour of driving.

You end up with a denser run rather than a scattered week.

Can it make the rain reschedule calls?

Outbound AI agents can work through the list and call every affected customer, which is the job that otherwise eats your evening. Responses come back into your system so you know who has moved and who has cancelled.

You decide what shifts. The agent does the twenty phone calls.

What happens when the AI cannot help?

It hands over, and you decide where. Complaints, property damage and anything about a job already done can go straight through to a person, to a specific queue, or to a manager's mobile.

The caller is not asked to repeat themselves either. Whoever picks up gets the context the agent already gathered. Outside hours the agent takes the details, sends an SMS confirmation and queues the callback.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. Number portability is standard, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, so the number on your trailer, your business cards and your online listings and on years of Google results stays exactly as it is.

We port it across and plan the cutover around your hours, not ours.

What happens if the internet drops?

Calls keep flowing. The mobile app keeps working over 4G and 5G, so your people can answer on their handsets while a site connection is down, and call flows can be set to divert to mobiles automatically.

You can also take your NBN service from Uniden Voice, so the connection and the phone system are one provider with one support number, instead of two companies each suggesting the problem belongs to the other.

How long does it take to get running?

A single site can be live quickly, because the apps need no hardware and the handsets arrive ready to plug in. The part worth doing properly is the call flow and the AI agent's knowledge of your business, and we build that with you rather than handing you a manual.

Number porting is the one step with an external timeline, so we usually run your new setup alongside the old line until the port completes. You never trade a day without a phone.
